Riya graduated from Rutgers University–New Brunswick with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Political Science. She began volunteering with New Jersey Angels during her junior year after independently learning about the foster care system in a university course. Moved by the statistics and the challenges facing children in foster care, she felt drawn to an organization dedicated to providing the stability and support they need.

She believes deeply in the power of relationships and their ability to positively shape the course of a person’s life. She is honored to be a part of an organization committed to building meaningful, lasting support systems for children and families.
