Monique Gamboa
Mother of three, independent minded, gratitude enthusiast, foodie and budding photographer
Likes: Being a mom, trying new foods, traveling, pet mom, anything culturally based, Netflix, Louboutins, Lladro, books, Peloton and smiles.
Dislikes: Cold weather, ungrateful people, problems I can’t solve, injustices.
Monique was born in Belize City, Belize and came to New Jersey at the tender age of 10! She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1991 and a Masters in Counseling from Rider University in 2003. She put her counseling degree to use working as a school counselor on the Elementary and High School level. She worked for 16 years as a counselor in an urban school setting and through her role, she was able to collaborate with the local Children Protective Agency to transition her students entering or coming out of the foster system. She has worked closely with foster parents, agency members and children to ensure their social emotional well-being isn’t compromised further.
After becoming certified in Educational Leadership in 2015, she now works as a School Administrator in an urban school setting and intends on utilizing her years of experience with the foster care system to volunteer with our organization as its Director of Programs.
Monique is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Sorority, and her local book club. Service and contributing to our society has always been a priority for Monique.
